Named after the occurrence of crabs, it is one of the few perennial rivers in the Columbia River Basin that flows through the city of Washington, D.C. and the state of Louisiana. Located in the town of the same name, this water has behaved well in recent years. The season runs from June 1 to September 30, and the daily limit for crabs is ten pounds per shell.
